The president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Maikel Moreno, on Thursday asked the National Assembly to abandon the attitude of constitutional contempt that they have maintained since 2016.
During the opening ceremony of the Judicial Year, in the auditorium of the highest court of the Republic, in Caracas, the magistrate asked the parliament to join the fight for the defense of sovereignty and democracy, in the construction of a country for all.
“Here we are, deputies ladies and sirs, this kind of justice is also yours and it is time for fraternity and respect, our only weapons are the law and the right, so meet them and we will be speaking the same language”, he said on a broadcast by VTV.
Moreno pointed out that the cohesion of all powers, with the sole mission of guaranteeing the integral defense of the nation, “is what makes the country invincible before any threat that might want to challenge our enviable, deep and peaceful democracy”.
In this regard, he congratulated the Electoral Power for guaranteeing and defending the democratic participation of the Venezuelan people; to the Citizen Power and its institutions for making their rights prevail and fighting the threats that threaten the peace of the nation; and to the Executive Power represented by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, for his unwavering will when defending the rights and interests of Venezuelans.
“These have been difficult moments but we must recognize their absolute strength to act as the nation needs”, he stressed.
