Venezuelan government regrets Panama's interventionist stance

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela regretted the interventionist position taken by Panama, through a communiqué published by the Central American country, in which it seeks to disown the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, who was sworn in last Thursday and who this Monday will present his memory and account before the National Constituent Assembly.
“It is regrettable that Panama joins again the anti-diplomatic nonsense against Venezuela, violating principles of International Law. There is no doubt that the conduct of Panamanian diplomacy is due to the pressures of Washington and that at the expense of peace in Venezuela, they intend to compensate the costs of having broken relations with Taiwan”, said the Venezuelan statement published on the website of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
Panama is one of the countries that forms part of the self-proclaimed Lima Group, made up of right-wing nations, which has shown an interventionist and disowning stance on the Venezuelan institutions.
Following, the complete text:
“The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has been informed of the issuance of an annoyed Communiqué by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama on January 12, 2019, whereby, once again, efforts are being made to destabilize the institutions of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and disown the constitutional order in full force and operation. In that sense, considers the following:
It is regrettable that Panama joins again the anti-diplomatic nonsense against Venezuela, violating principles of International Law. There is no doubt that the conduct of Panamanian diplomacy is due to pressure from Washington and that at the expense of peace in Venezuela, they intend to compensate for the costs of having broken relations with Taiwan.
Disappointed by amazing and unprecedented that precisely Panama, the last country on the continent to have suffered a US invasion, which promotes a foreign intervention in Venezuela. Disregarding the Venezuelan laws and trying to grant executive powers to the National Assembly, does not seek another objective than to trigger an internal conflict that seeks to justify the long-awaited US intervention in the country.
We suggest the government of Panama to address the serious situations of corruption involving relatives of the Vice President of the country or even President Varela himself, based on the investigations that have emerged after the so-called Panamanian papers were made public. Likewise, we urge you to correct the condition of Panama as a tax haven, which has facilitated the laundering of money and the construction of money laundering networks around your country.
The Constitutional Government of Venezuela will continue to carefully analyze the distempers of governments subservient to the interests of the United States, while evaluating the appropriate and symmetrical decisions in all areas that guarantee the protection of the people, the State and its institutions.”
