President Maduro denounced the US prevents Venezuela from buying medical equipment

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, denounced on Tuesday that the government of the United States (USA), prevents the purchase of medical equipment for the health of all Venezuelans, and in this sense he asks the United Nations Program for Development (UNPD) and the United Nations (UN) Organization for help to break the US blockade.

“I ask UNPD and the United Nations system for support, because you know, the imperialist government of the United States has persecuted and blocked us. If I want to buy anywhere in the world some special equipment to protect the pregnant woman, the US government persecutes us and prevents or delays us”, he said from the Plaza Bicentenario in Miraflores Palace.

He said that this persecution is due to the requests made by Venezuelan opposition figures such as Julio Borges, who exiled themselves in order to demand sanctions and aggressions against the country.

In this regard, he stressed that the Bolivarian Government is making great efforts to protect Venezuelans with the Carnet de la Patria (Homeland Card) system.

Maduro also called on the Minister for Health, Carlos Alvarado, and the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodriguez, to develop a special plan to invest resources in Bolivars and Petros to strengthen the provision of hospitals with the maternal route, which will be incorporated into the development plan of the 2030 Sustainable Agenda, promoted by the United Nations.

Minutes before, it was announced the endowment of five maternity hospitals in Miranda state, which will have new high-tech equipment, as well as equipment to provide better care for pregnant women.
