Maduro remembered Yasser Arafat on the 14th anniversary of his sowing

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, recalled on Sunday the 14th anniversary of the sowing of Yasser Arafat, a Palestinian nationalist leader, who worked for the defense of the dignity of the people of Palestine:

“We commemorate 14 years of the sowing of the eternal leader, Yasser Arafat, a defender of the dignity and self-determination of the Palestinian people. His olive branch continues in those hearts that fight for peace. Long live Free Palestine!” Wrote the head of state on his Twitter account.

Yasser Arafat was born on August 24, 1929 in Cairo, Egypt. He was a Palestinian political leader, the most emblematic of the last century and who became the absolute leader and leader of the movement for the liberation of Palestine and the construction of a independent state.

From 2002 until 2004 when his state of health worsened, Arafat remained confined by the army of Israel in Ramallah; and finally, and after being transferred to a hospital in France, on November 11, 2004, he died at 75 old in Clamart, France.
