Venezuela ratifies willingness to dialogue with the Government of Colombia

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, ratified on Thursday his willingness to dialogue with the Government of Colombia and achieve peace in the face of the violence that exists in the neighboring country and harms Venezuela with displaced persons and the incursion of armed groups into the national territory.

During the inauguration of the 14th International Book Fair (FILVEN 2018), the National Head of State made reference to the recent attack by paramilitary forces against Venezuelan soldiers in the Amazonian border with Colombia, where a group of Bolivarian officers lost their lives:

“Venezuela continues being a victim of the Colombian war, it is a war that has no end and those who rule in Colombia do not seek peace within Colombia, but seek justification outside of it”, he said.

He informed that he has instructed the joint staff and the head of the Operational Strategic Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, A / J Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, and the Minister of People’s Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, to reinforce all the measures of intelligence and counter intelligence of a military nature to find those responsible for the military attack aroused on the Amazonian border and protect national sovereignty.
