Venezuela ratifies solidarity with Grenada

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela ratified its solidarity with Grenada after 35 years of the fateful US invasion.

Following, the full Communiqué:

“The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan Government and People, greets the brother and combatant people of Grenada, commemorating one more year of that fateful October 25, 1983, when imperialist and invading forces, composed of 7,000 American soldiers, invaded the sovereignty and dignity of the island of Grenada.

The noble and brave people of Grenada challenged the hegemonic pretensions of the great powers by raising the voice of dignity and independence and forging for themselves a society of equals based on the principles of social justice and equity. Their only sin was to try to exercise their right to self-determination and national sovereignty, in opposition to the imperial plan to maintain the colonial yoke on the population of Grenada.

We extend our greetings to the heroic People and Government of Grenada, reiterating the commitment to advance together towards the construction of an increasingly just world, and guarantee the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace for our peoples”.
