President Maduro announced Conuco Plan in all schools in the country

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, specified on Saturday that productive education is the basis for the social and economic development of the country, with regard to the deployment of the Conuco (*) Plan in Schools, inscribed in the educational chapter of the 2019 -2025 Homeland Plan:

“We are on the right path of education for work, for values, for production, education for a new society, this new society is gestating, is gestating the work of the Productive Plan, the Conuco Plan in Schools” , emphasized the President during a telephone contact established during the Meeting of Advances and Challenges of Technical Education, held at Casa de las Letras Andrés Bello, in Caracas.

Also, the Head of State indicated that it is necessary to suppress the rentier and dependent thinking of the minds of Venezuelans, through a change of culture and time, for the welfare of the country, a change that, in his opinion, begins in the educational institutions:

“The base is in education and in the capacity of educational establishments, beyond educational spaces, to turn them into productive spaces, which implies planning in the first place, with the participation of the teachers, professors, students, workers, a planning of the educational community”, he said.

In this sense, he dismissed the criticism of the Food Production Plan in the Schools, and affirmed that it is applied to generate a new productive culture in Venezuelan children and adolescents: “There are people who try to diminish the role of this idea, saying that it is intended to feed a country by producing in the schools, it is not about that. It is about building a new productive culture, so schools can have their food, as part of their food reserve, the production of their own hands”, he said.

Therefore, he stressed that with the planting of items in schools, the new generation will have another vision of the economy, society and work, another different vision of Venezuela, one that is not dependent on oil and the dollar: “In this case we are taking to the field of education, trusting in the transforming force of productive education, education in values, the value of work, of production, learning how to sow, how it is maintained, how it is harvested, and be able to do it in a multiple, diversified way”, he explained.
