Attorney General confirms Albán’s suicide

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tareck William Saab, declared that two national prosecutors were appointed, one with competence in human rights and another specialized in homicides, to clarify the death of the councilman of the Libertador municipality and militant of the Primero Justicia party, Fernando Albán, who attempted against his own life last Monday.

In a press conference that he offered from the headquarters of the Public Ministry, Saab indicated that prosecutors of the MP witnessed the autopsy performed on October 8 by the anatomo-pathologist Arnoldo Pérez, and the conclusions of the expert reports are duly supported by the protocol of autopsy and the removal of the corpse, as well as by the external and internal photographic fixings of the body: “The autopsy showed that Albán died as a result of the blow received when falling from a considerable height, and that there was no evidence of physical abuse prior to the fall (…) this autopsy is completely auditable by any expert”, he explained.

He assured that the autopsy was supervised by the head of the Division of Pathological Anatomy, Yanuacelys Cruz, who determined as cause of death: severe facial cranial trauma, secondary hypovolemic shock, thoracic-abdominal and pelvic trauma due to falling height”, he reported.

He noted that 2,084 videos were found: “some of these could explain the unfortunate behavior of citizen Albán to attempt against his own life. There are people that what they have done is to speculate in order to distort the investigation”, he said.
