President Maduro met with the UN’s Secretary General

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting on Thursday with the Secretary General of the United Nations Organization (UN), António Guterres, in which were discussed the actions requested by the Head of State during his speech at the 73rd General Assembly of the international organization:

“Truth opens doors, it opens understandings. Venezuela is the center of a brutal world campaign, of economic and diplomatic war every day, of political pressures, of threats. We are doing our campaign of peace, for Venezuela”, said the Head of State in statements broadcast by Venezolana de Television after departing the meeting in which also took part the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza.

In this regard, the National President reiterated the request made this Wednesday to the United Nations, to set up a commission “to investigate in an independent manner and with an international character” the frustrated assassination attempt against him, held on August 4 in the Bolivar avenue in Caracas.

“We have talked about all the related issues, and it has been very positive. He has guided me on everything that has to do with the situation, the revelations made by the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Times magazine, about the participation of White House officials in the preparation of a military uprising or a coup d’état in Venezuela, which has alarmed many people in the world. I am going to continue my crusade so an international and independent investigation is made”, said the Venezuelan President.
