Chancellor Arreaza held meeting with President Erdoğan and with other chancellors

The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, held an important meeting on Tuesday with the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, after the speech by the Turkish president in the General Debate of the 73rd Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization (UN):

“We greet President Erdoğan of Turkey after his extraordinary words at the UN General Assembly. He expressed his satisfaction with the progress of our bilateral relations and sent greetings to his brother Nicolás Maduro”, stressed the Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs after his meeting with the dignitary, through his Twitter account @jaarreaza.

Last Friday, Venezuela and Turkey signed new agreements to boost the commercial, educational and cultural sector of both countries, during an official visit of the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, to the South American country.

Bilateral meetings:

Besides this meeting with the President of Turkey, the Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs also met with his counterparts from Spain, Josep Borell; from Uruguay, Rodolfo Nin Novoa; from Sudan, Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed; from Kazakhstan, Kairat Abdrajmanov; from South Africa, Lindiwe Sisulu; and from Jamaica, Kamina Johnson-Smith. In this journey, also held talks with Lim Jock Hoy, general secretary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

On Monday, the diplomat held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, and the rest of the Cuban delegation at the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly.

In this same scenario, he also spoke with the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, and with his counterparts from the Portuguese Republic, Augusto Santos Silva; from the Republic of the Congo, Jean Claude Gakosso; from the Republic of Gambia, Mamadou Tamabara; and from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Léonard She Okitundu.

The participation of Venezuela in the General Debate of the General Assembly of the United Nations is scheduled for next Thursday.
