Venezuelan Government delivered protest note to the Chancellory of Colombia

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on Tuesday delivered a note of protest to the Government of Colombia for presenting a false positive against the nation, after having made, on September 13, an anti-drug operation in Amazonas state, where it was dismantled a laboratory for the processing of coca paste, operated by Colombian citizens.

Through his Twitter account, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, asserted that the Government led by Iván Duque “insists on creating tensions on the common border, in their strategy of constant aggression against Venezuela”.

He stressed that this operation (carried out by officials of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), took place in Mantequero island, in Amazonas state, as well as he emphasized that Venezuela “Will continue acting with effectiveness and opportunity in the border area to protect the Venezuelan people and contain the drug trafficking industry that generates all its phases and processes in Colombian territory”.

In the operation carried out last Thursday, the authorities of the GNB managed to capture three Colombians, who carried war weapons and ammunition, as well as the seizure of 4,100 kilograms of coca paste.
