The Chancellor of the Republic, Jorge Arreaza, denounced this Saturday before the world “the plans of intervention and support to military conspiracies of the government of the United States against Venezuela”.

This was announced on his Twitter account, where he accompanied the message with a publication of the American newspaper The New York Times, which circulated on Saturday and which was titled: “Trump’s Government discussed a possible coup d’ etat with rebel militaries in Venezuela ”

Given this, Arreaza noted that: “In the American media itself, new and gross evidence is emerging” of the intervention of the US empire against the country.

In the publication, the New York Times newspaper ensures that the administration of President Donald Trump, had held a meeting with Venezuelan military “rebels” to plan a coup d’ etat against the national leader, Nicolás Maduro.

According to the newspaper, a US diplomat met at least three times with the coup leaders, the first one at the end of 2017, the second meeting was also last year and the third at the beginning of this 2018.

“At first, the Government considered sending Juan Cruz, a veteran agent of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), who recently resigned his position as the principal regulatory authority of the White House in Latin American affairs. However, the White House lawyers said it would be wiser to send a career diplomat”, says part of the publishing of The New York Times.

On July 4, the Associated Press news agency (AP), announced that a senior official of the US Administration, revealed that the president of the United States, Donald Trump, had asked his advisors why his country could not simply invade Venezuela, the imperial tycoon launched his threat at the end of a meeting last August at the White House to discuss the unilateral sanctions against Venezuela.
