Venezuela is not alone: 51 countries signed declaration in support of the Venezuelan people

The Vice President for International Affairs of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Adán Chávez, offered on Thursday a summary of the conclusions reached by the 24th edition of the Sao Paulo Forum, which was held on July 15, 16 and 17 in Havana, Cuba.

He referred to the joint statement in support of Venezuela, signed by 625 delegates from 51 countries and 168 political organizations and social movements from Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa and Asia that participated in that forum.

The signatories “will remain in permanent surveillance, in a permanent forum, to support us in everything that is necessary and to continue confronting those hegemonic attempts of the North American empire”, told the Socialist leader in a news conference held from Caracas.

At the meeting, the participating delegations expressed their solidarity with the Nicaraguan people, as contemplated in the final declaration, which is currently being victimized by the fascist violence of the right wing and US imperialism.

Chávez, in his capacity as representative of the Sao Paulo Forum, manifested that this debate space was declared in permanent session; “We continue to work according to unity, continental and global integration, with a common political program respecting the different specificities, peculiarities of each country, movement and party.”
