Turkish Airlines plans to set up a hub in Latin America in Venezuela

Turkish Airlines, one of the main airlines in Turkey, hopes to establish in Venezuela its hub to offer services in Latin America and the Caribbean, thanks to bilateral agreements between both nations.

“The plans we are going to carry out in this visit so that Turkish Airlines can establish a hub in Venezuela for all its operations in Latin America and the Caribbean will make us very optimistic,” said the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, in a meeting with the business sector of the Eurasian country, in Istanbul, on Tuesday.

In this activity, registered in the work agenda that has been carrying out since July 8, it ratified the business sector of the Republic of Turkey the willingness of the Venezuelan State to strengthen and multiply the binational trade balance in different areas.

The alliances with the air transport company will facilitate direct flights between Caracas and Turkey, as said last April then vice president for the Economic Area, Wilmar Castro Soteldo.

At the end of 2017, authorities of the International Airport of Maiquetía (IAIM) met with the representative of the airline in Venezuela to evaluate the possibility of increasing the frequency of the Istanbul – Caracas air route.

The strengthening of alliances with Turkish Airlines will also result in the development of receptive tourism in the country.
