Carlos Ron was appointed as the new Vice Minister of Venezuela for North America

The Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, informed that the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, appointed Carlos Ron Martínez, who served as business manager in the Venezuelan embassy in the United States, as Deputy Minister for North America.

This Tuesday, on his Twitter account @jaarreaza said: “Announcement: President @NicolasMaduro has decided to appoint Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for North America, Comrade Carlos Ron Martinez, who until today exerted with dignity, respect and attachment to diplomacy, as Chargé d’Affaires in Washington”.

During his proclamation on Tuesday before the National Electoral Council as Head of State, Maduro declared as persona non grata to the charge d’affaires of the United States in Venezuela, Todd Robinson, and gave him 48 hours to leave the country.

The President accused Robinson of participating in a military, economic and political conspiracy, as well as “having violated international law in a blatant manner”; He said he has evidences that he will present later.

He noted that the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry had called the diplomat’s attention “more than 10 times, in private, in public, in writing, verbally” but, he insisted, the US citizen did not ceased, and behaved like an “active conspirator”.
