Government proposes to build new distribution system to guarantee full supply

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, indicated on Thursday that one of the lines of action for the period 2019-2025 is the construction of a new distribution system to achieve 100% supply in Venezuelan families.

During the Venezuela Power 2018 Expo held at the Poliedro de Caracas, he explained that this structure must have an alliance with the Local Supply and Production Committees (Clap) and with the private sector.

“We are going to make an alliance with all the sectors of supermarkets, supply stores, and we are going to put a resource ourselves, taking back what we had in the Bicentenario (supermarket chain), of which we have enough facilities throughout the country, and we are going to re-empower a third line of work for the marketing of the streets and for any people who want to go to a supermarket, to a supply store, to buy their things”, he said.

He emphasized on the need to expand the Clap, to bring animal protein and personal cleansing products to the people at fair prices.

For this, the President instructed the Vice President of the Economic Area, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, as well as the Minister for Fisheries, Admiral Orlando Maneiro; to carry out this work in order to strengthen the productive apparatus and satisfy the needs of the Venezuelan, hit by unconventional war.

Castro Soteldo stressed that in Venezuela there is the processing capacity for 7.8 million Clap (product boxes), and is expected to reach 12 million Clap beneficiaries.
