Venezuela delivers protest note to the US by interference

The Government of Venezuela, through the vice chancellor for North America, Samuel Moncada, delivered a new note of protest to the US diplomatic mission accredited in Caracas, in rejection of Washington’s interference in the internal affairs of the South American country.

The so-called “Lima Group” at the Summit of the Americas held in Peru insisted on delegitimizing Venezuela’s Presidential elections scheduled for May 20, an action denounced by the Bolivarian Government as an attempt to create an atmosphere of chaos in the country and justify an intervention under the guise of an alleged humanitarian aid.

In the protest note, the Venezuelan government expressed its strongest rejection and said that the theme exposed by this group constitutes a hostile and unfriendly act against an independent country.

The document delivered by Venezuela also calls for an end to the economic blockade measures that seek to generate the conditions that propitiate a coup d’ etat against President Nicolás Maduro.

In this sense, Venezuela demands the US Government to immediately cease its interventionist policies and acts of aggression against the country.

During the Summit of the Americas, Cuba strongly condemned the pronouncement of a group of countries of the Hemisphere and said that its allegations constitute an unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of Venezuela.

Bolivian President Evo Morales said that his country condemns the unilateral sanctions and threats of invasion made by the US Government against Venezuela.
