Venezuela and Spain normalize their diplomatic relations

The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, informed that Venezuela and Spain have agreed to begin a process of normalization of their diplomatic relations.

Through a message posted on the Twitter social network, the head of foreign relations, said that in the coming days the ambassadors of both countries will return, in order to restore channels of diplomatic dialogue, within the framework of mutual respect and of International Law.

The message is accompanied by the Official Statement issued by the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela:

The Kingdom of Spain, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela through the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, have agreed to begin a process of normalization of diplomatic relations for the benefit of its citizens, who are united by close links that must be preserved.

To this end, they have agreed today on the return of their Ambassadors in the coming days, in order to restore channels of diplomatic dialogue between the two governments, within the framework of mutual respect and International Law.
