Maduro 208 years after April 19, 1810: We stand in struggle

On April 19, 1810, a new stage in the history of Venezuela began in Caracas. The Cabildo de Caracas, with the support of the people, important sectors of the armed forces, prominent figures of the clergy, society and intellectuals, deposed the Governor and Captain General Vicente Emparan and the other senior Spanish officials, sending them into exile.

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, recalled this revolutionary movement that had an impact on the political, economic, social and cultural fields of Venezuela and all of South America.

In his Twitter account @NicolasMaduro, he said that: “in the face of imperialism’s pretensions to undermine our sovereignty, we remain in the fight.”
