President Maduro supports free elections against MUD’s violent bet

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, spoke on Thursday in favor of free elections in Venezuela, in the face of what he described as the commitment to violence and conspiracy promoted by the right-wing MUD coalition.

In a message posted on his Twitter account, the Head of State contrasted the position of the Bolivarian Government with the coup plans of sectors of the Venezuelan right wing.

The MUD announced on Wednesday that it will not participate in the presidential elections scheduled for April 22 and convened by the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), and reiterated they will maintain their agenda of action against the Venezuelan State by disqualifying the Electoral Power.

“Venezuela knows # MoreElectionsIsDemocracy. I want votes and popular decision. What does the MUD want? It is either the Homeland, or them. It is either Peace, or it’s the guarimba (riots). It is either free elections, or the coup d’etat they would want.”
