President Maduro proposes mega-elections for April 22

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, proposed to hold the elections of the members of the National, state and municipal Legislative branches together with the presidential elections, scheduled for April 22.

“I propose to go to an advance of the parliamentary elections and to elect a new National Assembly, and that the election of all the legislative councils of all the states and of the 335 municipalities of the country be added, let us make an integral renovation, a great parliamentary mega election of the country, I propose this to the National Constituent Assembly”, indicated the National President during a press conference with national media broadcast by VTV.

He said that Venezuela will go to powerful elections for a democratic renewal of the country and thus leave the road clear of elections in the next four years and focus forces on the construction of the national economy.

“Against the aggressions, against the erratic conduct of the MUD (Democratic Unity Board) more elections, more democracy”, he said.
