“The Bolivarian National Armed Forces emphatically reject the sanctions imposed by the European Union on officials of our country, which is another deplorable act of interference that this international body sadly carries out, following submissively instructions from the Government of the United States of America.

It is shameful and contradictory that the intention of these arbitrary and unilateral actions is wielded, wanting to “incentivize” the negotiation in the dialogue promoted by citizen Nicolás Maduro Moros, Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and Commander in Chief of the FANB, with factors of the Venezuelan opposition; that is, they are appealing to coercion, intimidation and blackmail against one of the parties, omitting due process and violating, as usual, the elementary rules of international law and human rights that they themselves intend to defend.

With the argument that it is about individual sanctions, what they really pursue is to affect the peace, tranquility and good living of citizens, in order to generate social instability and ungovernability.

But the collective consciousness of the Venezuelan people, strengthened in its nationalism under the protection of the Bolivarian revolution, allows it to fully understand the true and macabre objectives that underlie the application of these measures. for that reason, we have the absolute certainty that they will not trample on the dignity of that people; On the contrary, with each threat, with each sanction, with each offense, we are strengthened even more in the moral to decisively confront the American empire and its allies.

From the military institution we reiterate the unconditional and unrestricted support to the efforts of the national executive to advance in the dialogue, without impositions of any nature on the part of foreign powers, respecting at the same time the institutions of the legally constituted state, our legitimate and inalienable right to peacefully resolve internal affairs and especially the sovereignty and independence of the nation. ”
