Venezuela rejects US statement that launches false accusations against the Bolivarian Government

The Government of Venezuela rejected the statement published on Friday by the US Embassy in Caracas, in which Washington “launches false accusations” against the State led by President Nicolás Maduro.

The official text published by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs this Sunday points out that the US evades its responsibility in the repeated aggressions against the South American nation.

In its statement on Friday, the United States denies being involved in the murder of constituent Tomás Lucena, and in the insurrectionary plans against Venezuela.

Following, the full text by the Bolivarian Executive:

“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the statement issued by the Embassy of the United States of America in Caracas on January 19, 2018, in which the administration of President Trump evades its responsibility in the repeated attacks against the people of Venezuela and of the legitimate Government of President Nicolás Maduro Moros, and launches false accusations against our Government.

Venezuela dismisses the distorted interpretation that the US Government has given to the warnings that, – within the context of defending our sovereignty-, the Venezuelan authorities have issued to alert the world about the serious threat that hangs over our country due to the US decision to promote the overthrow of the legitimate Government of the Republic.

Venezuela is today a country under a permanent siege, subjected to a cruel, inhuman and illegal economic, commercial and financial blockade, imposed unilaterally, in violation of all the norms of International Law and the Charter of the United Nations, by the Government of President Donald Trump.

We ratify to the world the denunciation of that the Government of the USA, since the arrival of the Trump administration, has intensified its campaign of destabilization of the Venezuelan democracy. We reaffirm that the US Government finances, protects and encourages groups that seek by violent means the removal of the Government. That the US articulates an international strategy, pressing sovereign nations in an obscene manner to join this strategy for the neo-colonization of Venezuela. That the anti-Venezuelan lobby groups based in the state of Florida direct the strategy of aggression against Venezuela. That the final goal of the US is to appropriate the riches of Venezuela and impose a lackey government that is aligned with their interests.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is a nation that respects the norms of International Law, which has never committed any act of aggression against any country, despite the fact that the US, since 2015, has classified our country as an “unusual and extraordinary threat” for their national security.

President Nicolás Maduro, in compliance with the historic vocation of peace of the Venezuelan people, has made permanent calls to the Government of Donald Trump to rebuild relations based on respect, dialogue and non-interference. However, the Trump administration insists on breaking the relations between both countries more and more. In its systematic campaign of aggression against Venezuela, the US Government has tried to impose illegal unilateral sanctions, it has financed terrorism, it has supported extremist groups, it has made calls to insurgency to the Armed Forces, going so far as to threaten Venezuela with a Military intervention.

If something hurts the historic relationship of friendship and cooperation between both peoples and Governments is precisely the commitment of the current US administration to disown the peaceful and democratic vocation of the Venezuelan people, and the legitimate rights of Venezuela as a free and sovereign nation.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reiterates its firm determination to protect its people, defend national independence and sovereignty. For this reason, it demands the cessation of the aggressions against the Homeland of Bolivar by the US administration, and reiterates the bonds of brotherhood with the people of the United States of America, of which we have received countless demonstrations of solidarity and rejection of the outrage committed by its Government.
