Venezuela assumes alternate presidency of OPEC

Venezuela assumed this Saturday the alternate presidency of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), a block of which is a founding member.

The information was made public by the Minister of People’s Power for Oil, Manuel Quevedo, through his account on the Twitter social network.

The official presidency of the bloc will be held by the United Arab Emirates through its minister for energy, Suhail Mohamed Al-Mazrquei, while the general secretariat will continue under the direction of Nigerian Mohammed Barkindo.
