Schemel stressed the importance of fighting the economic war

The Constituent and President of the Hinterlaces polling company, Oscar Schemel, stressed the importance of deepening the fight against the economic war, in order to provide a climate of security in this matter to the Venezuelan people during the end of the year, for a victorious 2018.

During an interview on the program “En la Palestra” (On the BOard), broadcast by RNV Informative channel, he analyzed the overwhelming triumph of the revolutionary forces on December 10, after obtaining more than 300 mayorships in the national geography.

“The first thing that must be highlighted is the civic, peaceful democratic spirit of the Venezuelan people. Venezuelans became accustomed to using the vote to decide, to reward or to punish. In this case they used the vote to reaffirm peace, stability that began with the election of the National Constituent Assembly”, he said.

Regarding the process of dialogue between the Bolivarian Government and the opposition, Schemel argued the need to reach specific agreements, especially in the economic sphere.

He assured that the right wing has lost credibility before its followers, after abandoning strategic political spaces.

“The opposition came out of the game in Venezuela, they have lost credibility, ability to call, ability to mobilize. It is far from becoming an alternative (…) the main agenda of the dialogue table that is going to be held in the Dominican Republic has to be concentrated on 2 fundamental levels; the international level (…) and also in the economic sphere”, he stressed.

He reported that from the National Constituent Assembly there is an important contribution to combat inflation and improve the purchasing power of the people.

“We are trying to contribute to the definition of macroeconomic policies, anti-inflationary policies, policies to recover economic growth (…) Venezuelans are waiting for answers and solutions (…) it is a difficult context but where the people have already acquired significant social and political awareness”, he said.

Schemel added that the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, leads the polls to be re-elected in his duty, in the face of an electoral process.

“Today a 57% of Venezuelans would prefer that President Maduro solve the economic problems of the country, rather than an opposition government coming”.
