Council of Electoral Experts of Latin America will audit municipal elections

A total of 15 members of the Council of Electoral Experts of Latin America (CEELA) will participate in the auditing processes for the municipal elections to be held on December 10, as informed the president of this organization, Nicanor Moscoso.

During a press conference held at the headquarters of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Moscoso said that a larger group of members of CEELA will be deployed throughout the National territory during the elections.

“We will be from this moment in different stages, 15 CEELA members, all former Presidents, former Vice Presidents and ex-Judges of Latin America, and we will have a larger support group on election day”, he said.

He stressed that the main task of electoral accompaniment is carried out by the witnesses of political organizations, just as it happened in the regional elections, which guarantee the transparency of the process.

He ratified that CEELA will participate in the audits of the polling stations, telecommunications in its two phases, in the printed notebooks of voting, in the electoral data, certification and infrastructure.

He pointed out that the accompaniment activities are carried out in accordance with the agreement signed last October between the organization and the Venezuelan Electoral Power, also respecting the electoral schedle and the internal legal framework of the country.
