Citizens and political parties may nominate candidates to municipal elections:

Tania D’Amelio, Principal Rector of the National Electoral Council, reported on Tuesday that the nomination of candidates for the municipal elections of the coming month of December may be made on their own initiative or through political parties and constituencies.

The rector added that in the case of Zulia state, where elections for Governor will be held, will also be ruled by these regulations.

He also stressed that the national organizations with political purposes authorized to nominate candidates are: PSUV, MUD, PUENTE, IPP, UPP89, AD, COPEI, AP, MAS, MPAPC, MP, NCR, MEP, PRA, PPT, PODEMOS, UNTC, UPV , VPA, PCV, TUPAMARO, NUVIPA, emphasizing that in total there are 22 national parties authorized to register candidates for those elections.
