President Maduro met with officials of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey

President Nicolás Maduro met with authorities of the Turkish National Assembly on Friday as part of his work agenda in that Euro-Asian nation.

In the legislative precinct in the capital city, Ankara, the Head of State held a meeting with the President of the Grand National Assembly, Ismail Kahraman and a friendly group of parliamentarians with Venezuela.

He also toured the museum set up at the Parliament, in areas that were attacked in 2016 during a coup attempt against Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdongan, as refers the Ministry of Communication and Information in a press note.

Earlier, the Venezuelan President visited the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, where he placed a wreath to pay homage to the founder and first president of the Republic of Turkey.

He also attended the University of Ankara, where he shared with the university community of this house of studies and received the honorary title of “Eternal Friendship” from the institution’s rector, Erkan Ibis, as reported the Office of the President in its Twitter account.

It is expected that the Head of State will chair the Venezuela -Turkey Inter-Governmental Joint Commission, with the purpose of evaluating the map of cooperation in the financial, commercial, energy, agroindustrial, industrial and military fields.

The President is holding an international tour, which began on Monday, October 3, which has included Algeria, Russia and Belarus.
