Maduro and Lukashenko to hold work meeting in Belarus

President Nicolas Maduro announced that in the coming days he will hold a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart, Aleksandr Lukashenko, to strengthen cooperation in several areas that maintain Venezuela and the European country.

The information was offered by the Venezuelan President in a work journey with regional leaders in Maiquetía, Vargas state, adding that he will also attend the Energy Week in Russia – where he will hold meetings with President Vladimir Putin – and Turkey , a country where he will chair the Intergovernmental Joint Committee.

“I’m going to visit (Aleksander) Lukashenko in Belarus. We have been reactivating the mixed commission, a set of cooperation issues in housing, agro-industry and trade”, he said, in a broadcast by VTV.

Relations between Venezuela and Belarus were strengthened in 2006 when both nations signed the first economic cooperation agreements for six million dollars.

For 2011, the binational exchange reached US $ 2 billion with works that include the construction of houses and the installation of assemblers of heavy vehicles. That same year, the Veneminsk joint venture was inaugurated in Barinas, which assembles tractors distributed by the Great Mission Agro-Venezuela to boost the work of agricultural producers.
