President of TSJ culminates visit to the People’s Republic of China

Today successfully culminates the visit of the President of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Maikel Moreno, to the People’s Republic of China, within the framework of the International Judicial Cooperation Forum of the Silk Road. strengthen relations and exchange of knowledge among the Judicial Powers of the countries participating in this international meeting.

The Magistrate-President met with his counterpart of the People’s Supreme Court of China, Mr. Zhou Qiang; with the highest judicial authority in Sudan, Judge Haider Ahmed Daffalla; with the vice-president of the Supreme Court of Justice of Russia, magistrate Pyotr Serkov; with the chairman of the Gansu People’s Court of Justice, Dunhuang Province, Judge Liang Mingyuan; with the highest authority of the High Court of Shanxi Province, Xi’an, Judge Yan Qing Wen; with the highest authority of the Shanghai Higher People’s Court, Judge Cui Yadong, among other judicial representatives.

During the development of the Forum, Judge Maikel Moreno inaugurated the “Global China Law” World Judicial Platform along with his counterpart Mr. Zhou Qiang, whose legal information system, created for users in the world, will expand international judicial cooperation. The presidents of the Supreme Courts of Sudan and Tajikistan, Judges Haider Ahmed Daffalla and Shermuhammad Shohiyon, as well as the Executive Vice-President of the Supreme People’s Court of China, Judge Shen Deyong, also spoke.

Likewise, the President of the Venezuelan Supreme Court presented and signed an understanding memorandum with the President of the Supreme People’s Court of China in order to initiate a Systematization Plan of the Venezuelan Judiciary to continue optimizing and modernizing the judicial service in the country. Likewise, this bilateral treaty will allow, among other things, to promote cooperation between the National School of the Judiciary of Venezuela and the National College of Judges of China, so that the judges of the two countries study in both academic instances.

During his visit to the People’s Republic of China, Judge Maikel Moreno visited the Superior Court of the Shanxi Province, Xi’an; who was a pilot in China’s judicial reform, and where he was able to share with those who work there, including Judge Zhang Ming, president of one of the courts in that region. He also visited the Dunhuang Court and the Higher People’s Court of Shanghai Municipality, China, where he met and observed firsthand the characteristics of the Regional Justice System and shared with its judicial servers.

In the International Forum for Judicial Cooperation of the Silk Road, the first vice president of the Venezuelan Supreme Court, magistrate Indira Alfonzo Izaguirre, and the president of the Civil Cassation Chamber, Magistrate Yván Darío Bastardo Flores, participated actively in the meetings that were generated during this activity and met with important judicial authorities, including the first vice president of the Court of Cassation of Turkey, Judge Abdulhalik Yildiz; and with the First vice-president of the Supreme Court of Justice of Portugal, Judge José Salazar Casanova. Similarly, the Executive Director of the Judiciary Branch, Dr. Jesse Arias, worked on the knowledge of judicial systematization.

The Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the People’s Republic of China, Dr. Ivan Zerpa, and the Venezuelan Consul in Shanghai, Colonel Leisbeth Berrios, also formed part of the important work agenda that the Venezuelan judicial authorities in the Asian nation, consolidating and strengthening ties of brotherhood between the two nations in order to guarantee an increasingly strengthened international justice.
