Head of State proposes debate on 21st century socialism

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, proposed a debate on 21st century socialism and its different expressions, in response to his intervention at the UN.

“I propose to you, intellectuals of the world, social fighters, that we make a debate on socialism. Very well Mr Trump, I will pick up the good from the bad, I agree. Let us make a debate on the socialism of the 21st century and its different forms of expression throughout humanity”, he said.

He expressed his satisfaction for defending the socialist project initiated by Commander Hugo Chavez, and for being the Democratic president of a free people.

He rejected the speech at the headquarters of the UN of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, against the sovereignty of Venezuela, qualifying it as a presentation without basis.

“The speech of Mr Trump was a patch quilt written by advisers on all subjects, because you have to see what he wanted to read about Venezuela, about Cuba. When he said that the “socialist dictatorship of Maduro is a philosophical mistake” … but in socialism, there can never be a dictatorship, because socialism is the realm of the people’s power … not the power of the oligarchies, nor of the elites”, he said.
