The economic and political war that is taking place in Venezuela is fundamentally in the field of communications, warned this Monday the Minister for Communication and Information, Ernesto Villegas, at the inauguration of the Anti-imperialist Forum in Defense of the Homeland, by exhorting the people to assume itself as communicators.
“Everything we do is communicational, the way we walk, the way we talk and the words we use; let us be aware of that because the enemy is hunting for any mishap, error or scene that serves on its war plan against Venezuela”.
For the journalist, the victory of the counter-coup forces, in April of 2002, not only had its base in the people, but also in the field of public opinion, and for that it was fundamental the restitution of the on-air signal of the TV Station of the Venezuelan State . “If it is not known, it does not exist; if it does not appear on television, it does not exist”.
He assured that it is not enough to incorporate a journalist or a communicator in all areas of political and social work, it is necessary to act, think and speak as communicators. “We must all assume ourselves as communicators … carrying the message of truth and the emancipation of peoples”.
“It is indispensable that we assume communication as something much more important than we conceive it today … for something the enemy deploys its main strategies in this field, do not underestimate it, do not believe that we do not know all, do not consider it secondary . ”
Villegas thanked those who are now in the country on the occasion of the “Todos Somos Venezuela” (We All Are Venezuela) meeting, whose cooperation is fundamental in this battle to make known the truth of the Venezuelan people in that “gigantic choir of falsehoods, half truths, lies and infamies that circulate about the country”.
