We are very close to resolving some of the hot spots between the opposition and the Government

These were the words of the commissioner for the new round of dialogue with the opposition, by the Bolivarian Government, Jorge Rodríguez, upon his arrival in the Dominican Republic in the company of the President of the National Constituent Assembly, Delcy Rodriguez, and Ambassador Roy Chaderton.

“We come with President Nicolas Maduro’s mandate to this process of dialogue, an initiative that must be welcomed by the peoples of peace throughout the world. Let us leave behind the warmongering anxieties of some sectors, of some imperial powers who want to install war, hate and violence in the Venezuelan Homeland. The Venezuelan Homeland is at peace”.

In a conversation with representatives of the media, he welcomed the initiative of the President of the Dominican Republic, Danilo Medina, and the former President of the Spanish Government, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, who was supported by the UN’s Secretary General, Antonio Guterres.

He also welcomed the presence on the site of representatives of the Venezuelan opposition, noting that this dialogue initiative will contribute to consolidating the peace so much desired by the vast majority of Venezuelans.

He reiterated the willingness of the Government of President Maduro to dialogue and to agree on mechanisms of understanding. “We are very close to solving some of the hotspots between the opposition and the Government with the “People gets understood by talking” motto”.

For her part, the President of the ANC said that the only valid path for the country is that of peace. “We cannot allow the factual power to impose the agenda of violence and war in Venezuela.”
