ANC approved Law of Peaceful Coexistence to eradicate imposed hatred

The National Constituent Assembly (ANC) unanimously approved the Law of Peaceful Coexistence against Intolerance and Violence during its regular session in the protocol chamber of the Federal Legislative Palace in Caracas.

The President of the plenipotentiary power, Delcy Rodríguez, stressed that this law proposed by the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, seeks to eradicate the hatred imposed by sectors of the Venezuelan opposition.

“The central point is to eradicate discriminatory, fascistic, supremacist, racial, political and ideological expressions. Supremacy does not fit in a Venezuelan model that is democratic and of equality. (…) There is an imported hatred that belongs to a plan to attack the integrity of the people. This imported hatred is put here by the most racist and classist expressions of the Venezuelan right wing, and it has sickened a sector of society”, she emphasized.

In that sense, Rodríguez indicated that the ANC is designed to defeat violence in all its expressions and to consolidate the peace of the Republic.

For his part, the first vice president of the ANC, Elvis Amoroso, detailed that they will look for the form of consultations on this law with the voice of those affected by hate crimes, to give it a more humanistic character.
