Public Ministry must undergo a total restructuring process

The current image of the Public Ministry is a disastrous one, as said the second Vice President of the National Constituent Assembly, Isaías Rodríguez, referring to the extortion network that allegedly operated in this institution with the complicity of the former Attorney General Luisa Ortega Díaz, her people of trust and her husband, deputy Germán Ferrer.

“This picture of today is a disastrous one. Recovering the image of this Public Ministry is going to cost some time (…) It is a presumption that has well-founded indications of guilt. These facts (…) explain some possible behaviors that could be assumed from the Public Ministry. (…) It is a fact that overflows the news fact”, he said.

Rodríguez emphasized that the Public Prosecutor’s Office must initiate a process of restructuring, as announced by the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, because the Venezuelan people need to re-trust an institution that turned its back to justice until just a few days ago.

“It is difficult to break with this without taking a decision that involves a total restructuring of the Public Ministry. From the ashes to try to build a new infrastructure that gives confidence to the country”, he said.

On the other hand, the second Vice-President of the National Constituent Assembly, Isaías Rodríguez, condemned the behaviour of the United States by not sanctioning these notorious acts of corruption, when in the jurisdiction of that country it is accustomed to sanction this type of crimes.
