ANC ratifies TSJ judges and magistrates

The National Constituent Assembly (ANC) ratified in their positions to the members of the Judicial Power, who attended the ordinary session to be subordinated to the highest instance of the Original Constituent Power.

The President of the ANC, Delcy Rodríguez, said they will assume the proposal of the Supreme Court Justice (TSJ), Maikel Moreno, to carry out the Revolution of the Judiciary Power.

She emphasized that among its objectives is to definitively defeat corruption in the justice system, a commitment that is assumed by all the members of the ANC.

She added that this legislative body will also discuss the points proposed by Moreno, including changes in criminal law for the attention of the sentence in crimes against property, the person, against the public patrimony, and the aforementioned referring to the change of the Constitutional top of the penalty, from 30 to 50 years.

“Justice is not only a right, it is a high constitutional value, it is a high value and a mean of the State, it is a both a right and a guarantee”, she said.

She recalled, and qualified as historic the ANC’s action by removing the Attorney General of the Republic, Luisa Ortega Díaz.

“It is not any simple decision that we have adopted, removing the leading actress of violence in Venezuela, which opened the door for an international intervention and destabilization in Venezuela”, he said.

She denounced that in the investigations made in the Public Prosecutor’s Office have been found very serious aspects that attempted against justice in Venezuela, and also are considered serious charges of corruption.

Finally, the Constituent plenary ratified in their positions to the principal judges and main and alternate magistrates, who declared to obey the plenipotentiary character of the ANC.
