Head of State acknowledges plenipotentiary power of the ANC

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, manifested this Thursday his acknowledgement of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) as a plenipotentiary, sovereign and great power to govern the fate of the Republic.

“For those of us who dream of a country of prosperity, today is a very special day; (…) Today we have the National Constituent Assembly, and I come to acknowledge its plenipotentiary, sovereign and great powers to govern the fate of the Republic. As Head of State, I subordinate myself to the Constituent powers of this National Constituent Assembly”, said the National President from the Protocolary Chamber of the Federal Legislative Palace in downtown Caracas.

He emphasized that the Original Power was born as a historical need for peace, with a clear irreducible mandate to make peace through truth and justice, to open the way to prosperity.

“I want to convey to the 545 Constituents elected by the heroic vote of a Venezuela that wants peace, my respect, my acknowledgement, my immense joy of being able to be in this great ANC”, he said.
