Sanctioning the president is to sanction more than 8 million Venezuelans

The Minister of People’s Power for Defense, General in Chief Vladimir Padrino López, along with the military high command, rejected the latest interventionist actions of the American empire.

“By sanctioning President Nicolás Maduro, are being sanctioned more than 8 million Venezuelans who, against wind and tide, went out to vote on July 30, and much more, it is being attacked, is being offended a whole society, a whole People”, said Padrino López on behalf of the FANB.

He asserted that these measures violate all principles of international law, by seeking to apply extraterritorial laws.

He ratified that the FANB is attentive to the issues that interfere and disrupt the security of the Nation, and reiterates that its mission is to guarantee the national independence, the sovereignty and the integrity of the geographic space

“When they put the country in a situation of threat, they will get these humble soldier men and women with an iron determination in our independence, sovereign, freedom and love of the country and the Constitution”, he said.

He affirmed that Nicolás Maduro is the Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, and emphasized that he is not a dictator.

“It is not a dictator that who calls for elections, it is not a dictator that who invokes the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, it is not a dictator that who has worked for the peace of the Venezuelans and has procured to avoid what other stateless sectors invoke everyday: death, civil war, confrontation between Venezuelans”, said the General in Chief.

He stated that more than 8 million Venezuelans expressed themselves in the electoral process to elect the members of the ANC.
