«What does the right wing say? They are going to make a plebiscite on July 16. Is like this how they will deceive their people, after so much time, so many dead that they have caused».
This was confirmed by the First Vice-President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv), Diosdado Cabello, during the «Con El Mazo Dando» (Hitting with the Hammer) program, regarding the call made by the Venezuelan opposition’s leadership.
Cabello said that the right wing has prepared a media apparatus to magnify and increase participation in the event and legitimize the creation of a parallel State, and assured «that will not happen».
«We are not going to go, and the opposition is not ever more going to come back»; said the Socialist leader.
He recalled that the plebiscite figure is not a Constitutional one. «Some of them have already come out to say that it is not binding. Of course it’s not binding, that’s a stupid thing, that’s a swing in the air, nobody’s going to pay attention to them», he said.
