Extended duties of Commission for Truth, Justice, Reparation to Victims and Peace until 2017


The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, signed the decree to extend the duties of the Commission for Truth, Justice, Reparation to Victims and Peace, in order to incorporate the events of violence that have occurred until the present year, to guarantee the access to the justice before the absence or insufficiency of the same.

“From this moment we will devote to research to the determination of the truth … nothing and nobody will be able to stop the determination of the truth, of the violence that has unleashed the extremist opposition factors (…) who refuse themselves to the Democratic mechanismss. This decree creates a sub-commission of justice, it will strengthen to help victims’ access to justice. ”

She informed the creation of a sub-commission of Justice, to reinforce and to have the knowledge of the victims, with a team that will be in charge of the investigations.

In the same order of ideas she assured that the goal of this commission is to preserve the tranquility of the country and the meeting among all Venezuelans in order not to take the shortcut of violence and the hatred.

(…) The work of the Commission on Truth, Justice, Reparation to Victims and Peace is to make recommendations in different actions (…) As in the integral attention to the victims, and to preserve  public stability”, emphasized Chancellor Delcy Rodríguez .
