The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) issued a statement on Tuesday on which they support the call made by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to a National Constituent Assembly, in order to preserve the peace and stability of the Republic.
In the text, published on the website of the Ministry of Defense, the FANB stressed that this initiative – convened on Monday – “is a strong demonstration of the democratic mood of the Head of State, who invokes the originary power, generating a very wide and unprecedented Space of opinion, against the interventionism, the political intolerance, the violence, the barbarism and the destabilization recently promoted by radical groups of the opposition, that pursues the fragmentation of the social whole “.

BOLIVARIAN NATIONAL ARMED FORCES
COMMUNIQUÉ:
The Bolivarian National Armed Forces, expresses to the Venezuelan people their strong support for the initiative taken by the citizen Nicolás Maduro Moros, Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and our Commander-in-Chief, to convene a National Constituent Assembly in strict adherence to the established In articles 347, 348 and 349 of the Constitution.
This initiative is a clear demonstration of the democratic mood of the Head of State, who invokes the originary power, generating a very wide and unprecedented space of opinion, against the interventionism, the political intolerance, the violence, the barbarism and the destabilization recently promoted by radical groups Of the opposition, which seek the fragmentation of the social whole. In this sense, it opens the door to a great dialogue, which in a climate of respect and mutual recognition, will allow the debate of ideas and consequently the citizens’ reconciliation through the active and protagonist participation of the different sectors of society; not precisely of the cupolas or elites of any kind.
In this way the first National President, assumes a transcendental political challenge, in order to avoid an internal confrontation, depositing his confidence in the decisions that take the true Sovereign, the people of Venezuela. Liberator Simón Bolívar pointed out in his Speech of Angostura in February 1819: “If there is not a sacred respect for the Fatherland, for the laws and for the authorities, society becomes a confusion, an abyss: it is a singular man to man, body to body conflict. ”
This call is based on the founding constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and, given the new geopolitical and socioeconomic realities, seeks to strengthen it by including aspects oriented towards a greater concreteness of the essential purposes of the State, among which are the consolidation of Peace, the improvement of the economic system, the defense of sovereignty and national integrity, and the rejection of interventionism, among others.
The Military Institution strongly believes in peaceful coexistence and constructive dialogue; Ratifies its irreducible vocation to serve the highest interests of the country and the unwavering commitment to respect and enforce the Supreme Law of the Republic. It also urges the community to abandon any type of violent demonstration that threatens the human rights of individuals and invites deferentially all forms of social organization that make life in the country, so that they join this legal and democratic call, Which certainly represents a mechanism of solution to the problems we suffer, within the framework of understanding, harmony and brotherhood that has always characterized us.
