El Aissami: The Revolution has put youth in the vanguard

The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Tareck El Aissami, highlighted the efforts made since the beginning of the Bolivarian Government to claim the role of youth for the development of the nation.

“Today within Revolution … youth is the protagonist of this project that we are building and it is (Hugo) Chávez who called on all young people to join us in this project, to join this Government,” said the Vice President during the program “Los Domingos con Maduro” (Sundays with Maduro), broadcast by Venezolana of Television.

He recalled the mistreatment suffered by the youth in the times of Fourth Republic governments for demanding their constitutional rights. “Youth was a prosecuted, mistreated object;  (there were) Many comrades who fanned the struggle of the student movement, and especially of youth”, he said.

He warned that nowadays sectors of the right wing direct a campaign against the young people because they direct the destiny of the nation. “An infamous campaign against the youth that is exerting the political power”.

He also reiterated the importance of young Venezuelans to lead the country. “Youth is a Government in Venezuela, we are writing our own history without the tutelage of anyone, without the opinion of anyone, and that is why we are a subversive youth,” he emphasized.
