The Minister for Internal Relations Justice and Peace, Néstor Reverol, reported that are in the process of drafting all the manuals and protocols of procedure, to guide the actions of officials within the Operation for the Humanist Liberation of the People (OLHP).

The statement was made during the “Dando y Dando-Radio” (Taking and Giving-Radio) program, broadcast by the RNV Informative chanenl, a space in which he referred to the complaints about human rights violations in the execution of the former OLP, which in his opinion “do not obey a State policy, and do not represent the feelings of the police corps”.

“The human rights that may allegedly have been violated are due to the purely individual circumstances and actions of officials, who are subject to investigation procedures for police deviations, or they are under the regime of presentation against the Public Prosecutor’s Office.”

Reverol stressed that under instructions from President Nicolás Maduro a deep revision of the OLP- now OLHP-  is being made, which in this new phase has six phases, the first three addressing aspects such as: information gathering and planning; Execution of the action and search; Continuous patrolling and integral approach.

He said that the OLHP will be used for the liberation of territories that are hijacked, besieged and under threat by paramilitary gangs, a situation that in many cases has led to forced migration.

The head of the Ministry of Justice and Peace said that these operations are under the responsibility of special forces, who prior to an intelligence work carry out a set of operations for the liberation of areas seized by the paramilitaries in the country.
