FANB acknowledged journalists on their day

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces recognized the exemplary work of communication professionals who with dignity, courage and integrity, dedicate their lives to the defense of the truth as an inalienable principle.

The Minister of People’s Power for Defense, General-in-Chief Vladimir Padrino López, through a statement, affirmed that journalists are the “protagonists in the forging of the collective conscience necessary for the construction of the Great Homeland”.

Padrino López remembered the Liberator Simón Bolívar and placed him as an example of what the exercise of Venezuelan journalism should be, “diaphanous, attached to reality, morality and social responsibility, an instrument of peace and social justice,” reads the notice.

The National Journalist Day is celebrated in Venezuela every June 27 in honor of Simón Bolívar, who created the Correo del Orinoco newspaper in 1818, as a weapon for freedom.
