President Maduro asked the UN for support to arrange a national dialogue

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, requested this Saturday to the United Nations (UN) support to arrange new spaces for dialogue for peace with the Venezuelan opposition, as part of the fulfillment of objective number 16 of the Sustainable Development Agenda-2030
“Peace, Justice and solid Institutions, sixteenth objective of Sustainable Development. There the United Nations Organization has to help us. I told the secretary-general of the UN -Antonio Guterres-, in September, to help us in the dialogue for peace, mutual recognition, harmony, coexistence, the coexistence of different political visions”, said the National President.
He added that the Bolivarian Government executes a policy of peace, in which it has called the national right wing for dialogue in more than 400 opportunities, for the understanding and resolution of conflicts for the benefit of the people.
In this context, he exhorted the opposition to cease the diatribe that aims to escalate towards a situation of confrontation in the country and invited them to discuss the 17 objectives of the 2030 Agenda: “I would like to speak and sit down with all these objectives with the opposition, in a long journey, and talk about the economic, political, social development of the issues that concern them the most, those that anguish the Venezuelans”.
We must promote a great social, cultural, political dialogue, of respect, of mutual recognition and hopefully the United Nations, with its great experience, will help us to create conditions for a great national peace dialogue.
We are committed to increasing work meetings with the various programs of the UN to receive contributions that stabilize and improve our social programs.
