The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, held on Monday a telephone conversation with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, in which both expressed the willingness of their Governments to strengthen bilateral relations.
The information was released in a statement issued by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, in which was said that during the conversation the two leaders welcomed the recent agreement of the countries belonging to the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

On the morning of today the Presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, and of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, held a telephone conversation concerning the excellent bilateral and multilateral relations between our countries.
President Rohani congratulated President Maduro for the success of the historic summit of the Non-Aligned Countries Movement in Margarita, and predicted a high performance of this important movement with Venezuela at its presidency.
Both leaders welcomed the good agreement of Algeria to limit oil production in the establishment of a fair price and the defense of the energy market.
They also agreed to continue to cooperate closely to strengthen this agreement both with OPEC partner countries, as with those not member countries of OPEC, for the purpose of joining forces united in defense of fair oil prices.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela ratifies its willingness to advance bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, agreeing to continue together on common approaches on issues of global concern.
