Venezuela congratulated France on the 227th anniversary of the Bastille Storming

This Thursday the Venezuelan Government through an official statement extended its congratulations to the French people and the Government to commemorate the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille in 1789.

The document emphasizes that the Diplomatic Relations between Venezuela and France emerge at the dawn of Venezuelan independence, with holdings of the most universal American, Francisco de Miranda, at the battle of Valmy, and the travels of Simon Bolivar to French lands.

“Today, 14 July, when we commemorate the bicentennial of the death of Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda, we remain united by historical ties forged on relations of friendship and cooperation.”

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Government and people of Venezuela extends its fraternal and deep congratulations to the People and Government of the French Republic, on the date that marks the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille in 1789, recognizing the revolutionary and heroic struggle of the French people for liberty, equality and fraternity, principles that inspired the independence of our countries.

Diplomatic relations between Venezuela and France emerge at the dawn of Venezuelan independence, with the participation of the most universal American, Francisco de Miranda, at the battle of Valmy and the travels of Simon Bolivar to French lands.

Today, July 14, when we commemorate the bicentennial of the death of Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda, we remain united by historical ties forged friendly relations and cooperation in many sectors for the mutual benefit of our peoples.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela ratifies, on the occasion of the National Day of the French Republic, sends our sincere congratulations to the French people, and our willingness to continue to cultivate friendly relations, cooperation and solidarity.
