Reverol: Inaction of Public Ministry generates a climate of impunity

The Minister of People’s Power for Interior, Justice and Peace, Néstor Reverol, said that the terrorist actions promoted by the opposition in recent days have generated a climate of impunity caused by the inaction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, failing to ensure the correct application of Justice, which causes anxiety in the community.

He emphasized the case of the assault and arson to the house of the craftsman Jose Ramón Quintero González, in Pueblo Llano, Mérida state, whose authors were captured.

“In this case, prosecutors of the Public Ministry (Prosecutor’s Office) dismissed all police actions and ordered full release for those involved”, reported Reverol.

He affirmed that facts of extreme gravity have also been pre-qualified, calling into question the prestige of institutions such as the FANB.

He called on the Public Ministry to investigate cases where two people were burned alive during violent opposition protests in the Chacao municipality of Miranda state.

He stressed that this Wednesday the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) administered safeguarding actions against mayors of 8 municipalities of the country where violence persists.

In the safeguard is ordered to meet the functions of public order, and must be complied with by the mayors, otherwise they will incur into disobedience to the authority.

Finally, he stated that the Bolivarian Government claims the actions of the Police Corps and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), in their strict adherence to the Constitution and the laws of the Republic, in their competence of reestablishment, control and maintenance of public order.
