The process of the National Constituent Assembly strengthens Venezuelan democracy, being an election that involves the various sectors of society, as assured the member of the Strategy and Propaganda Commission of the Zamora 200 Constituent Command, Jorge Rodríguez.
During a special program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, he explained the processes of nomination as a Constituent to the National Constituent Assembly.
“There may be a nomination of an individual kind, or you can be postulated by a group of voters … If it is a group of voters, it will automatically be placed in the register of workers, this is what will establish the will of the citizen or Citizen to participate. (…) Then comes the process of application and registration that includes to meet the requirements, to be Venezuelan by birth, not having a dual nationality, be over 18 and be registered in the electoral registry.
Rodríguez said that for territorial registration must have at least 5 years of residence in the municipality to apply, and if it is by the sectorial modality some type of nomination by organizations related to the sector that plays.
He also mentioned that the minimum number of signatures to be postulated to the ANC is 3% of the electoral register for the municipalities, (therefore) the size of the municipality affects. The CNE will establish the percentage of signatures for each of the sectors.
Mayor Rodríguez recalled that potential candidates should print their enrollment form from June 6 to June 10, and later meet the requirements established by law to formalize their registration to the election.
