Hace 1 semana.

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his pride for the acknowledgement of the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture, UNESCO, by declaring the Work songs of the Plains, as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Through his account on the Twitter social network, he wrote: “What a pride to know that UNESCO has declared the Work songs of the Plains, as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Long live the plains, and the beauty of their identity!”

The Work Songs of the Plains (Cantos de Trabajo del Llano) enter the list of Patrimonies that require urgent protection to guarantee their safeguard and preservation towards future generations, which has been a permanent commitment of the Bolivarian Government.

This declaration is added to the five consecutive ones that Venezuela has obtained since 2012: Dancing Devils of Corpus Christi, the Parranda of San Pedro, The Oral Tradition of the Mapoyo People, the Weaving of the Curagua, and The Carnivals of Callao.
